• https://basemap.nationalmap.gov/arcgis/rest/services/USGSTopo/MapServer - this is current topo map. Not very great, but good for validation.
• http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WMS links to sever OSM ones, terrestris one is one of the best: http://ows.terrestris.de/osm/service?
